19th CENTURY COUNTRY HOUSE- WORCESTERSHIRE

Extensions, Alterations & Refurbishment

The original house which dates from around 1840 had been unsympathetically extended and altered by several previous owners and was looking very ‘tired’ when acquired by the current owners.  The whole property was stripped back to its shell structure and the complete roof replaced.  The more recent extensions and alterations were removed prior to construction of new extensions to the front, side and rear designed to restore a balanced appearance, sympathetic to the local vernacular and significantly improved internal circulation.  The heavily textured ‘Tyrolean’ render previously applied to the external walls was replaced with a smooth wood float finish render coloured to match the local sandstone.
